Pathways to Aviation Scholarship Program
The Pathways to Aviation Scholarship Program exists to ensure the future of aviation, aerospace, and emerging technologies, like unmanned aircraft systems, is supported by a strong, diverse, and well-prepared workforce. This is made possible through $50,000 of scholarships funded by the generous contributions of the George W. Gillemot Foundation. This foundation honors the legacy of the World War II veteran and engineer who believed in the expansion of the aeronautics industry in Nevada.
Pathways to Aviation carries that vision forward by investing directly in young people who aspire to careers in aviation and aerospace. Through targeted financial support, mentorship, and long-term stewardship, the organization helps remove financial barriers that often prevent talented students from pursuing flight training, technical certifications, or advanced degrees in these highly specialized fields.

Measuring Outcomes
A defining element of the Pathways to Aviation Scholarship Program is its commitment to stewardship and accountability. Scholarships are not simply awarded and forgotten. The organization maintains annual contact with recipients to monitor academic progress, track certification milestones, and document career advancement within the aviation and aerospace industries. This approach ensures that donor investments directly contribute to measurable outcomes and long-term success.
As recipients advance, they may be invited to share updates or testimonials, offering real-world insight into how scholarship support has shaped their journey. These stories help inspire future applicants while demonstrating the tangible impact of industry and foundation partnerships.
