Two local students were awarded the Brigadier General Fred L. Michel Scholarship.
The outstanding students are:
- Thomas Concoran – a 2018 Galena High School graduate, who’s pursuing a degree in Aeronautical Sciences at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. He’s also playing football on a partial scholarship.
- Tristan Martel – a 2016 Carson High School graduate, who’s in his third year at the University of Southern California. The 2016 recipient of the Michel Scholarship continues his pursuit of a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He’s also a midshipman with the ROTC and is a videographer for the Trojan football team.
Both students attended the ice cream social, hosted by the Community Foundation of Western Nevada, held in July at the Terry Lee Wells Discovery Museum.
