June 2015 Bulletin

June 19, 2015

I hope you’re week is coming to a fantastic close. I thought I’d alert you to two big events and bring you up to speed with our Air Races plan.

Carson Airport Open House
If your day permits, you’re encouraged to attend the big Open House at the Carson City Airport. Running from 8:00am-4:00pm, it will be an exciting day of aviation and aerospace adventure, where you can see historical military aircraft, flybys, and static displays.
We hope to see you there!

First Flight Day at Reno-Stead Airport
The EAA Stead Chapter is hosting its annual first flight day on Saturday, June 27 from 7:30am-12:00pm. Each child will enjoy a pancake breakfast before going through a pre-flight session. Upon completion, the children will enjoy a free 20-minute flight with EAA-certified pilots.

Foundation at the Air Races
As you may have heard, we created the “Aviation Learning Center” for the upcoming National Championship Air Races. The Center will be the site of standards-based classes for children, informative workshops and sessions for all ages, aviation legends and executives presentations, flight simulation exercises, aviation organization exhibiting, and more!

Just last week, the number of students registered for field trips to the Air Races exceeded 3,000 for the first time in years. Each child will participate in a class under one of four subject areas: Aircraft, Rocketry, Space Exploration, and Drones. We’re really excited by the growth of our field trip program.

I invite you to regularly visit our website www.PathwaystoAviation.org for the latest news and events, as there’s a great deal happening!

Yours in Flight,

Pete Parker
Executive Director
