October 18th will be remembered as a remarkable evening for Pathways to Aviation!

The evening began at the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada’s Annual Industry Awards, where Pathways to Aviation was nominated to receive the Industry Partner Award. We were nominated for our new Futures in Aerospace program, which provides high school and college students with connections to aerospace industry leaders and, at the same time, career planning resources and education.

While we were not selected to receive the award, we’re incredibly appreciative of the nomination. Being recognized among the community’s most impressive corporate-to-community partners is not only outstanding, it recognizes the value of our new aviation career mentoring program. Special thanks to Nancy McCormick and the entire EDAWN team for their endorsement and support of Pathways to Aviation.

While Eric Henry was at the EDAWN Awards, Pete Parker was at the Truckee Tahoe Airport for a special aviation career information night. Local students attended the event to learn about the Truckee Tahoe Flight Plan, our spring career mentoring workshop series. The series will launch in January and culminate in May at the big Aviation Networking Night.

Based on the success of last spring’s Flight Plan, the upcoming workshop series is position to create even greater impact with local high school and college students.

The Futures in Aerospace program continues to grow.
