Build a Plane Camp in Carson

Students in grades 8 to 12 are invited to participate in a unique Build-A-Plane Camp at the Carson Airport in August.

Interested in building a real airplane?  Want to learn what it takes to build an experimental aircraft? The Build A Plane 2019 project is a 3 day hands-on day camp where students learn about piston, jet and rocket engines, have an opportunity to use tools to bend, cut, wire and learn techniques (flaring, tubing, burring) .  It includes a museum tour and an aviation/aerospace company tour, a chance to meet aviation professionals, and work on a Zodiac plane.  Open to students 8th-12th grade.  Seats are limited.  Sign up and confirm your seat. The deadline is now extended to August 5th.

Cost: $225
Class limited to 12 students
Dates: 9-11 August, August 9* optional
9-AUG 11:30 a – 2:30 pm **
10-AUG 8:30 a – 3:00 pm – YE flight (am)
11-AUG 8:30 a – 12:30 pm lunch included
+ parent permission required
** New addition: Lunches now included on 8/9 and 8/11

This camp is sponsored by Partners for Community, in partnership with Society of Women Engineers Sierra Nevada Section, and the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 403. Payment will go to Partners for Community a 501c3 organization that supports Youth Aviation Education.
