Official Statement Regarding COVID-19

March 13, 2020

Pathways to Aviation is committed to advancing the aerospace industry by creating and fostering strong workforce opportunities and relationships.

We place our students, job-seekers, employers, partners, supporters, and local communities at the forefront of all we do. As our global community addresses the COVID-19 virus, we’re taking the necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our stakeholders.

At the same time, we recognize the impact of our workshops and networking receptions on our students and corporate partners. Students receive valuable career-readiness coaching, as they prepare for career launches. Similarly, aerospace companies seek to recruit quality young talent for apprenticeships, internships, and part/full-time employment. The decision to cancel our on-site events is not of interest to us. However, we believe we have an exciting solution.

The remaining career planning workshops, scheduled in the month of March, will be combined into one workshop, taking place on Wednesday, April 8. The session will be conducted online and featured on our website. The details of the workshop will be provided on the website and all attendees must RSVP to participate in the live and recorded versions.

Moving to an online format allows all students, regardless of location, scheduling availability, and career interest to participate in our big workshop. Students will learn ways to articulate their interests, experiences, and goals verbally. At the completion of the workshop, they’ll possess tools and tips to succeed in interviews and networking situations. They’ll learn about first impressions, meeting and greeting, body language, elevator pitches, conversation topics, and networking tips.

We will determine the format of the April workshops, which focus on interviewing, very soon.

On behalf of the entire Pathways to Aviation family, thank you for understanding our situation and decision. Rather than cancel our workshops, we’re maintaining our quest to prepare young people for meaningful careers in the aerospace and other industries.

Yours in Flight,

Pete Parker
Executive Director

Eric Henry
Chairman of the Board
