Establishing strong conversations

Though we labeled last night’s workshop as “Showcase Your Brand,” the focus was being prepared if and when you make contact with an industry leader during the Career Symposium.
We shared the various ways students and job seekers will establish contact with the leaders participating in our panel discussions and interviews:

  • Zoom chat
  • Facebook chat
  • Unmuted Q & A period
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Separate video call

Regardless of the initial and subsequent contact, it’s best to be as prepared as possible to enter into meaningful conversations. During the workshop, we shared the various ways to be ready, questions that may be asked during conversations, and how to utilize the career profile.

Recognizing that not every student is ready to seek employment, we shared tips on conversation readiness whether you’re seeking a job immediately or in eight years. These tips are shared in the video below.
