Yesterday’s Career Conversations Workshop engaged students, job seekers, and mentors in a conversation about resumes. It was the third of a three part series dedicated to resume writing.

Twelve tips were shared during the workshop, all to make resumes “pop” in the eyes of the recruiter and interviewers. They included:

• Tell a story
• Show sincere interest
• Use bullets
• No errors
• Tailor descriptions
• No pronouns
• Use action verbs
• Focus on Why and how
• Avoid acronyms
• Highlight achievements
• Incorporate keywords
• Showcase soft skills
