March 2015 Bulletin

March 24, 2015

It’s a busy time of year and keeping you informed of our most recent activity is very important to us. We are continually pushing ourselves to introduce, enhance, and advance aviation opportunities.

At the core of all activity is our desire to inspire young people through aviation education and history. Naturally, many of our programs are designed to introduce children of all ages to aviation, learning opportunities, outstanding leaders, and exciting activities. These include:

Annual Speakers’ Forum
Everyone is invited to our upcoming event, taking place on April 8 at the University of Nevada. Howard Putnam, former Southwest Airlines CEO, is our keynote speaker. We encourage you to invite friends and aviation enthusiasts. Seating is limited for the free event, which is why we’re strongly encouraging RSVPs as a means of saving seats.

Fred L. Michel Scholarship Deadline is March 31st
The scholarship was created to award young men and women who are majoring in aviation-related degrees. The deadline is just one week away.

Structured Air Race Plan for the 2015 Air Races
Every year, hundreds of students visit the Air Races through school field trips. To add greater structure of our field trip program, we’re enhancing our Aviation Learning Center…the hub of all field trip activity. We’ll be conducting classes in the Foundation tent, where each course will be tied to CommonCore and NextGen standards. By doing so, we’ll provide outstanding value to the Air Race experience, where students can enjoy great racing, presentations by aviation experts, enticing hands-on activities, and a meaningful tour. If you’re interested in learning more or registering your class/school for an official field trip, contact me right away.

Invest in the future of aviation
As a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, our quest is to advance aviation education, historical preservation, and opportunities to engage aviation enthusiasts of all ages. Programs like the annual Speakers’ Forum, Air Race Aviation Learning Center, and student scholarships are made possible through the generosity of many donors. Please consider a donation to Pathways to Aviation. Make an easy, safe, and secure online donation. 100% of your 100% tax-deductible contribution will be used precisely as you intend.

You’re encouraged to visit our website (www.pathwaystoaviation.org) on a regular basis to keep current with activities and programs. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me at any time.

Yours in Flight,

Pete Parker
Executive Director
