Last night’s career planning workshop in Truckee focused on personal branding and interpersonal communications.
The largest group of students to assemble in Truckee this year made the most of a discussion centering around verbally communicating with others. Students learned about first impressions, meeting and greeting, their personal brands, body language, and conversation topics. The purpose was to ready students for conversations in any situation, whether it’s when standing line at a coffee house, visiting employers at a career fair, or meeting with recruiters at one of our networking receptions. It’s a natural next conversation, following the resume-writing workshop, where students articulated their education, experiences, skills, and more in a written format.
Very special thanks to our speakers, who shared their career journeys, passions for aviation, and invaluable career advice:
- Michael Golden – CEO of Mountain West Aviation
- Chris Barbera – CEO of Mountain Lion Aviation
Conducting the workshop series is made possible thanks to the support of the Martis Camp Community Foundation, Truckee Tahoe Airport District, and Sierra Aero.
The next workshop takes place on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 5:00pm in the Truckee Tahoe Airport Terminal Building.
