Celebrations are always special. Whether it’s sparking interest in a young person, recognizing a student’s achievement, or awarding certification for one of our candidates, these occasions are very special to us.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2020 we hosted our first virtual career workshop. Having hosted over 20 workshops at different airports over the previous three years, the transition to a virtual platform was new territory. However, what many people don’t know, is that an implementation of a virtual model had been planned for months. COVID simply forced us to launch the program six months ahead of schedule.

Since the second Wednesday of last year, every Wednesday has featured a one hour conversation about aviation, career readiness, and aviation careers. Our soon to be released annual report reveals that our workshops were attended by over 1,000 amazing people. While a handful attended multiple sessions, we had no idea the virtual career mentoring program would generate such a high level of success with minimal promotion and no history of online programming.

A group of students, job seekers, and mentors attended yesterday’s workshop to reminisce about the transition, share successes, present fresh ideas, and celebrate. It’s an hourlong, but the video below is a clear representation of the openness, professional intimacy, and diverse interests shared by our attendees. It’s a great way to learn all about our career readiness program, its impact on candidates (and industry leaders!), and exciting possibilities.
